welcome to my kitchen!

this page is where i'll be documenting the meals that i cook! some are recipes i found online, and some are things i've totally made up. i write all my recipes in a little notebook, and i keep track of different iterations of my own creations. i'm having a lot of fun both finding new things to cook and creating my own recipes! i am very easy to please, so you may see many five star ratings. many foods are good foods to me.

i don't currently have easy access to an oven, so everything i make has to be made only on the stove. that being said, if you have an interesting recipe, send it my way! i love trying new things.

9.09 - broccoli and cheddar orzo

this was the first meal i made with an actual recipe so i was very biased in favor of it. i need to have some sort of vegetable in every meal i eat or else i go crazy, so i figured this would be yummy and also satisfy my dark fears of malnutrition. it did not disappoint! broccoli and cheddar is always a nice combo, and i love orzo as a pasta shape. i did not exactly measure the cheese, but i think i put in significantly more than the recipe called for. it's ok.

9.05 - beans and spinach (v2)

it is amazing what an onion and some salt can do. this meal was very much edible, thanks to these two very easy additions. the dish was still pretty boring, but it had flavor, which could not be said about version one. i didn't get a picture, unfortunately.

9.02 - beans and spinach (v1)

do not be fooled by the fact that this looks okay. it was, in fact, barely edible. in my haste to cook and eat food, i may or may not have forgotten to purchase anything that would give this meal, you know, flavor. my evil concoction of beans, tomato paste, spinach, curry powder, and absolutely nothing else sustained me, but unfortunately i cannot say much more of it.
